Indra has acquired a new manufacturing facility in Asturias, Spain, to boost its tactical vehicle production capabilities for European defense partners.
The acquisition was completed through an agreement with industrial firm Duro Felguera and includes the transfer of over 150 skilled employees to Indra.
Situated in Gijón, the site spans 75,000 square meters (807,293 sq ft), with 23,000 square meters (247,569 sq ft) of enclosed manufacturing space.
Indra plans to modernize the facility to support the assembly of both wheeled and tracked tactical ground vehicles. Additional investments will go toward workforce training, advanced machinery, and upgrades to the production line.
The move reinforces Indra’s strategic commitment to bolstering operational autonomy and industrial sovereignty in Spain and across Europe. It also marks the beginning of transforming Asturias into Indra’s land systems manufacturing hub.
A leader in defense electronics, Indra contributes to key European programs such as FAMOUS and MARTE, and is a major stakeholder in TESS Defence, which produces Spain’s Dragon 8×8 armored vehicles.
