L3Harris Technologies and Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) have signed a strategic defense agreement to co-develop the Blue Sky Warden, a light-attack and intelligence aircraft tailored for Israel’s defense needs. The collaboration reinforces U.S.-Israel defense innovation and reflects a growing emphasis on affordable, long-endurance aircraft suited for modern conflict environments.
The Blue Sky Warden will be a customized evolution of L3Harris’ Sky Warden platform, derived from the OA-1K Skyraider II now entering U.S. Special Operations Command service. Designed to merge precision strike and advanced ISR (intelligence, surveillance, reconnaissance) capabilities, the aircraft will be optimized for Israel’s diverse operational conditions. The Memorandum of Understanding between the two companies outlines joint development and technology integration for future mission requirements.
