AeroVironment’s Puma Long Endurance (LE) drone can now operate reliably in GPS-denied environments following the integration of the company’s latest navigation enhancement.
The system is equipped with a Visual Navigation System (VNS) that allows the small UAV to maintain its flight path even when satellite signals are disrupted.
Using downward-facing cameras, sensors, onboard processors, and real-time terrain mapping, the VNS enables the drone to navigate without relying on GPS.
