Marking a significant production milestone, L3Harris Technologies has supplied the US Army with its three-millionth M734A1 mortar fuze.
Designed to NATO standards, the fuze serves as a collision detector and rangefinder for 60mm, 81mm, and 120mm mortar ammunition. Its selectable airburst options enable optimized detonation heights, ensuring mission flexibility and sustained battlefield lethality. Built-in safeguards further enhance troop protection and reduce collateral risks.
The achievement builds on the company’s fiscal 2025 output of about 500,000 fuzes—nearly 80 percent higher than 2024 levels. Meanwhile, L3Harris’ Missile Solutions unit is preparing for a $1 billion investment aimed at strengthening US propulsion programs.
