Leonardo has wrapped up its first overseas participation in Defence Cyber Marvel, a multinational cybersecurity exercise spearheaded by the UK Ministry of Defence.

The company fielded a team of 11 apprentices from its Cyber and Security division in Bristol, supported by specialists from the Royal Signals Reserve. During the exercise, participants were tasked with defending a complex network spanning Windows, Linux, operational technology, and other systems against intensifying cyberattacks, operating on Singapore time to align with the majority of competing military and industry teams.

Preparation was led by Leonardo’s Security Operations Centre professionals, while Royal Signals reservists offered mentorship throughout the scenario. By the end of the exercise, the team demonstrated the ability to interpret live intelligence feeds, direct defensive actions, assess indicators of compromise, strengthen network resilience, and contain active threats.

Hosted annually in London, Defence Cyber Marvel is delivered in partnership with the National Crime Agency, the Cabinet Office, the Department for Business and Trade, and the Department for Work and Pensions. Now in its fifth year, the 2026 edition—held in Singapore—brought together around 2,500 participants from 29 nations and 70 organizations, aiming to sharpen allied cyber capabilities against real-world digital threats.
